Prenatal Massage

OVerview

Ask any mother the hardest part about pregnancy, and she’ll likely tell you it’s the chronic aches and pains that can last well after the baby is born. Pregnancy puts a great deal of pressure on the back, neck and shoulders, and abdominal muscles due to weight gain and posture changes.

Prenatal massage helps relax the body and reduce stress, and is also beneficial for your overall well-being by increasing oxygen levels in the blood, decreasing toxins in the muscles, and improving flexibility and circulation. It can also relieve many of the discomforts common to pregnancy, including back aches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, and swelling, as well as alleviate depression or anxiety that is caused by hormonal changes.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Many pregnant women find uncomfortable to lie on their stomachs during the massage session. Our therapists will help you into a comfortable position on your side, supported by soft cushions to alleviate strain on the back and pelvic area during the massage.

The techniques used during the massage depend on where you are in your pregnancy. This techniques may include reflexology, Swedish massage, or specific techniques that focus on your areas of need or concern.

IS PRENATAL MASSAGE RIGHT FOR ME?
